On August 9th this summer break, Samantha Morris and I went to Justin Bieber's Believe Tour concert. It all began when Sam decided to randomly show up at my house. She brought me a letter that said we were going to go to Justin's concert a few weeks later. She told my mom that the tickets were really cheap that day, so my mom looked into it. She soon came upon a site that told us that Justin was having a concert the next day. Sam and I begged my mom to let us go, so she bought the tickets that were $110 apiece. So Sam stayed the night that night and we left at three in the afternoon to Chicago, where he was preforming. Us three checked into our hotel room and went and got dinner, we finished, and was on our way to the arena where he would preform. When we first got there Sam and I got matching Justin Bieber t-shirts. We sat in our seats for an hour and then the openers came on stage, I only remember one, which was Mike Posner. After the openers, Justin came on. All you could hear was girls screaming and crying, but a good cry. His performance was amazing, he sung at least 20 songs. It was one of the best days of my life. Once the concert was over, we went to the back of the arena and waited for Justin to go outside to his tour bus. We waited there for at least an hour, then my mom got very impatient so we left. We soon found out that Justin went outside and talked to the fans 15 minutes after we left. We were really mad about that. On the car ride home Sam and I were crying and my mom was complaining about how her ears were buzzing because the music was so loud. Samantha Morris and I will love Justin Bieber for the rest of our lives.

Friendship is a very important thing at any age. But, when you're a teenager, it's an even greater thing to have. You're going through all these changes, and you need someone there for you. You need someone you can look at and honestly trust them with your life. You need a person you can tell ANYTHING too. No matter how dark, or secretive it may be. However, sometimes it's tough for kids to find someone like that. I guess you could call me lucky, because I've found someone I can truly tell anything too. And her name is Lilly.

My family is the most important thing to me. My sister Stacy is important to me. Stacy is my best friend and my twin sister. I would do almost anything for her. We do everything together; we started high school together, we share a birthday, and we do chores together. She helps me when I need it. I can always trust her with whatever I tell her. She has always been taller but not by much. She is almost just like me but also she is totally the opposite of me. My brother Cody is important to me too because he has been there for me since I was a little girl. He has taught me a few things. I have got really close to him lately. Also, my aunt peanut is important to me because she has been taken care of me for 3 years. She is like a mother to me. She treats me if I was her daughter. Also, my uncle Doug is important to me because he treats me like I’m his kid. He taught me to shot a bow and fish. He is always there to tell me if I’m doing something wrong. He is like a dad to me. Another important person to me is my dad. He has done everything to make me happy. He tries his hardest to give me the life I deserve but I already do. He has always been there for me through everything that is going on in my life. He does what he thinks is best for me. My mom is important to me because she had did all she could when she was here and that is the most I could ask from anyone. She did stuff even if she was suffering because she loved us so much. That is why my family is most important thing to me.

Wisconsin is a really important place for me because most all of my family lives there. Whenever my family heads up north we have a blast! We go to a lot of lakes and do water activities for instance, boating, jet skiing, tubing, swimming, and paddle boating. All of my family gets together to watch the Green Bay Packer games (Go Pac Go!) and they eat cheese, except for me because I don't like cheese. I do like ice cream though, so we go to Briq's ice cream, it tastes amazing! It's like a mini Dairy Queen, and they have all sorts of desserts you can get! Another thing we do with our family in Wisconsin is have family reunion type parties! We all hang out and talk about what goes on in our lives, which is nice so we know what's going on! I really love Wisconsin and I'm excited to go back!

As freshmen, many of us are still trying new things and figuring out what we want to do in the future, such as sports. Playing sports and being active have been a large part of my life since I was a little kid. I tried many sports; soccer, basketball, softball, and finally, volleyball. Volleyball has consumed my busy life and is very important to me, and is always a great stress reliever, especially after a demanding day of high school.

As a little kid I was put into dance, just because my mom was in it when she was younger too, so she wanted her daughter to be in dance. At first, I did not think much of dance, but as I have grown up, I have come to love dance in every way. Ballet has become my passion. And, I thought I was pretty good, I knew I was not the best of course, but I thought I was doing pretty well. However, for the past couple years, I have been watching other dancers, and saw how amazing they are at my age or even younger. I lost all hope in myself, thinking I was not good enough to be a dancer anymore. Why was I not as good as them? Even though I had no hope, I kept pushing through my weekly class. Then, just this last year, I watched the Pom team preform. I wanted to be like them.

One thing on my heart that is really important to me is my hobby, cheer. Besides horses and my family, cheer is my life. My first year of cheer was competitive season if 2012-2013. That season got me hooked on cheer ever since. One reason that cheer is so important to me, is because with cheer you don't only get fun team mates to cheer with but you get a cheer family and get to create a bound with your team mates that you can not create with any other sport. With cheer you get a great family, great friends, amazing memories, and a spirt with a willing determination. They great thing about being so close to your cheer team is that when your determination is fading and weakening, your team mates can push you harder than you need to be pushed and you won't take it the wrong way because you know that your "family" is only helping you get better and is pushing you to be the best you can be. Another reason cheer is important to me is because not only do I get pushed to be better as a chear leader but I get pushed to be a better leader, friend, student and so many more things. Cheer would not be as important to me if it wasn't for the talented coaches and the motivated team mates, without them I wouldn't be the cheer leader or person I am today. So I am very greatful that I have extemly amazing coaches and amazing team mates, I would not be anything without them.cheer is a big part of my life and it always will be. That is one thing that is really really important to me.

Ever since I was a baby music has had a big impact on my life. Both my parents listen to music almost all the time when I was growing up causing me to like music very much as well. When I was little all I used to listen to was country because that is what my mom listened to, but as I grew up I figure out there was many other types of music that I like. My favorite music now a days is Metal or post-hardcore. I used to not like this type of music at all but once I actually listened to it I took a liking to it and listen to it as much as possible.

As a young person in this time and age, it seems that more and more kids are caring less and less about school and education. I am not one of those kids. Instead, I strive for education and knowledge, because to me, it means the world. Weather it be from a German scientist, or a Korean mathematic wizard. I strive for knowledge because, without it, we could be gone. I believe that it is because of both because of our natural and advanced intelligence that our entire legacy of the human race is still here today. For was it not knowledge that let us create the atom bomb to end the second world war? Was it not education that established a foundation for Albert Einstein to create his scientific and mathematic ingenious? Because the knowledge of the mathematics lets us do basic life activities with numbers, currency, and objects. The knowledge of the language arts lets us further understand that our language is not just made of words and phrases, and can be made into works of art and entertainment. Our studies of basic science continuously lets us find new things about the people and things around us. And finally, our history tells us of what went before us, past mistakes, and how it has effected all of us. It is of these studies that I find are the most powerful things that are amongst us in this society. I want to learn more because tomorrow, our days will come to an end. One nuclear war, one global pandemic, one giant sun flare, could put an end to all that we were, what we are, and what we will be. So I strive for the better of our home, our world, our people as a human race, and all that we stand for.

You know when you get worried or stressed, and you are simply over-whelmed. There is a solution to that; one that will take away your fears and anxiety. My family and I call it the cottage, a little cabin-like house in Lawton. It has been ours since I was six years old and has really made its own special place in my heart. There I enjoy tubing, swimming, boating, fishing, and simply the sound of the waves gently lapping on the beach. The cottage is perfect for a vacation. It is on a narrow dirt road that is often over-looked by many (including the ice cream man). It is quiet and secluded for time alone, yet surrounded by other friendly faces and neighbors on the lake. It is nice how even if you do not know one another, strangers will still wave to you and strike up a conversation. Everyone is more laid-back and at ease.

My siblings are so important to me. There always there when I need help and support me with every thing I do. My oldest brother, Teddy jay Olmsted was born when I was five. He is an amazing football player and wrestler. Sometimes he can get on my nerves but I know he is always there for me if I want to talk. My sister Audrey Elain Olmsted was born when I was eight. She is a fireball who always has energy. She came to all my cheer events and even started to do cheer herself. She cheers for rocket at Coloma. She is my best friend and always knows how to put a smile on my face. About a year ago we lost a sibling and it was so hard to cope with it especially for my brother but it also made us a lot closer. Neither of them would be here without my dad and stepmom. I also have twin sisters Addison Nicole marquardt and Taylor Nicole marquardt were born when I was eleven. Addison is crazy, she has energy to last a lifetime. She also I very picky. she will only eat certain foods. Her attitude is huge, if she dose not like something or wants something you will know about it. Taylor is more laid back and sensitive. when she was about two she was diagnosed with scoliosis. she will probably have to wear a back brace until she is four or five. Taylor and Addison are polar opposites. When Addison and Taylor get older I hope they will look up to me and come to me with there problems. I was an only child for most of my life but would not know what to do without my siblings. That is why my siblings are the most important people in my life.

You know that feeling when you don’t know what to do or where to go and you are too scared to ask? Well sometimes I get this feeling and this is why confidence is very important to me. Whether it is at school, a sport tryout, or even just at the grocery store, confidence comes in handy. I have begun to learn that the more you love the skin you are in you can do so much more than you ever thought you could do.

Despite what a lot of people think, football starts before fall. For high school football we started conditioning the second week of June and continued until we started football camp which started the first week of August. After football camp, regular football practices began. We work hard during football practice all week long and I was very excited when we finally got to play our first game. The first freshman game was against Three Rivers and it was at Three Rivers. We played poorly in the first half and going into halftime we were losing 6-0. Shortly after the second half started, they scored another touchdown making the score 12-0. It was then when I realized all that time we spent conditioning in the summer was worth it. The Three Rivers players started getting really tired and were not making the plays they were making in the first half. Our team just kept playing hard and the next thing you know, we scored 2 touchdowns and a safety to win the game 15-12. The outcome of that game showed us that all of that hard work we put in starting in June really made a difference.

The feeling of the brisk mountain air is something all skiers crave and waking up to a powder day is an indescribable feeling. It’s no secret that skiing is one of my favorite sports and it is one way my family and I can all spend time together. We often go on ski trips to the beautiful mountains in Colorado and up to the hills in northern Michigan. In fact my older brother loves the snow so much he decided to go to school in Petoskey, Michigan were he could be by the major ski resorts and still get a college education. That is another way our family spends time together. We often go on trips to visit him, and ski while we visit.

LETS GO RED! Cheerleading is one of my favorite sports. It helps you build your confidence and get out of your comfort zone. Cheer is very important to me and I've been doing cheer ever since I was young. I made the Varsity team this year as a freshman, which is a huge honor , that has been an amazing experience so far. Cheer pushes me to do my best with the determination to never give up. We work very hard at what we do which gives us great results. When we see something that we could improve on or do better on we always fix it and try to never do it again. We are always trying to make it 100 times better. When your cheering you have to give in 110 perfect effort. We have to work together as a team. When your in a sport you may get close with your team and call each other best friends, but I would have to say my cheer team is my other family. I have gotten to be really close with my team this year and I'm glad because now I have people I know who I can always count on.

My friends are incredibly important to me. I have the best friends. I couldnt ask for better ones. I have five friends I am really close to. They are so amazing. They are always there for me no matter what. We have the best laughs. Without them, I would be a mess. They really keep me grounded. We are all in band and hang out all the time. The six of us all hang around in a group. Theres Becca, Sarah, Danielle, Richa, Pozi, and me. We call ourselves the hexagon. You always see us together. I love being with them. When im around them, I feel less vulnerable. When im with them I always have a good time. They always make me smile.

Ever since I joined band in the fifth grade I knew that there would be something special waiting for me one day. When I tried out band instruments for the first time in Elementary school, I tried out for the trombone, trumpet, etc. The one thing I didn't have in mind was the Euphonium. I never knew what that was, so my band teacher told me that I would be amazing at it one day and so I chose it. From this day forward I'm very good at the Euphonium and will never quit band.

Have you ever made a decision that you thought you would look back at later in life? I have made a lot of those, but it’s not until now that I am finally looking back at one; when I decided I would play Tenors.

Something that is really important to me is music. Ever since I was little I loved to sing and pound on the piano and pretend like I was playing. So, when I turned 10 years old I started taking lessons. I was pretty good at it! But, when I got to the point where I could've started playing way more advanced pieces my teacher held me back and I was stuck playing those dumb and easy songs. I was in band at the time too, so I already knew a lot of the musical theory stuff. After about a year of piano lessons I had really learned all the stuff to where I could become self sufficient. That's when I decided to quit my teacher and play music on my own and ask my mom (also a piano player) to help me when I needed it. In 8th grade I actually played keys in the Jazz band and that was pretty awesome. I am also a percussionist in the Lakeshore band. In marching season I play in the Pit/ Frontline which is like marimba. Marimba is the same notes as a piano so piano playing really helps me in that way

Friends and family are my life. My friends I can trust with my secrets and have been there when I'm upset. For instance, my best friend Shawn, him and I have known each other for about eight years, we met when our mothers worked together at a construction job. He was also the first person who was actually nice to me when I first transferred to lakeshore. He didn't recognize me at first, but after a day or too, we remembered each other. One of my closest family members is my uncle Jason even though he lives all the way in Texas. My uncle was got married three years back and just had a new born son in august, just days before my own birthday. A reason why I love my family so much is because of all the encouragement ad support they give me. One example of that is when I started writing poetry they all gave me feedback on Each one and pointed out things to make my poems better, which has helped out in the long run. I have recently enter one of my earlier poems in a contest to where I could win anywhere from a new laptop to $500. Over the summer I entered three poems into the berrien county youth fair and one a blue ribbon which I'm proud of even though its not anything major.

Ever since I was a little kid I always loved football, whether it be playing football or watching it. I started football when I was 3rd grade and I have played every year since. It’s something that interests me and I wouldn’t trade it for any other sport. My hopes are to move to the college level and play at Texas University. Then if I become good enough I hope to become a professional football player or to come back to lakeshore to be a coach. I’ve always wanted to go passed the high school football level but I’m not totally sure if I can do that. So for right now my main concern is to be the best high school football player I can be. Both my brother played football so this sport is a big tradition in my family. Part of the reason I am so interested in football is to beat my brother and go farther than they did in football. The biggest reason football is important to me is because I simply love it, it’s the only sport that is an all out physical sport. Also it’s a challenge and I like to be challenged in a sport like this one. I currently play jv football and I like it a lot. We just had a game tonight and we won 56-6. I play center in football on the offensive line and I played pretty well tonight. A lot of people say that center is an easy job but it is very hard. I have to make sure the snap gets to the quarterback, then block the guy in front of me and make sure he doesn’t get passed me to the quarterback. Yet center isn’t the only hard position in football all the positions are hard. So tonight’s game was a big victory for us and I hope there are a lot more victories to come.

The water rushes ashore from beyond our reach, as my comrades and I sprint to and fro across the earth. But no longer is it to and fro, it is now up and down. Now we climb for victory, for us all as a team. Nine times to ascend into the divine of our own virtue, our own sovereign motivation, and one for the Bears.

A cool breeze hits my face as I open the door. Fruit and chocolate swirl together to create a comforting aroma. I wait impatiently for my turn to order, thinking about the savory flavors that awaits me. Strangers pass me with their delicious choices. But what will I decide? Finally it's my turn, do I grill or chill? A chilling Trippleberry smoothy sounds devine! I see them building my treat. Yum! One of the workers hands it to me, I'm anxious to take my first sip. Oh how refreshing, pure bliss.

What a perfect day. I hear the waves softly crashing up and down on the sparkling sand. As I lay I stroke my hand on the giant blanket of sand smoothing the footprints of the world. All the sudden I feel a shadow pass over me, I look up, I see a seagull soaring through the sky. a glimmer catches my eye, I turn to see. Far behind me the fountains shoot up like fish jumping out of the water for a gasp of precious air.

A soft wind rushes upon my face as the sweat is dripping down. I love this place more than anything so many cheery faces right infront of me. The soft squishy ground beneath my feet covers my worn out body with black. It keeps my spirit up to watch the outrageous fans cheer for there team. GO RED! Is what you might hear here shouting throughout the atmosphere. 3...2...1, it's done for tonight everyone rushes out like a stampede and ready to be home.

Soccer is a really important thing to me. I've played soccer since I was five years old. When I play soccer I can forget about all my problems and just play. A lot of people think that soccer is just kicking a ball and running but that's not true it's more than that, you have to be able to run for about seventy minutes, you have to be able to control the ball, and do many other things. Many people call it the thinking man's game because you do really have to think, when you get the ball you have to decide what you're gonna do right away. You could pass the ball, take a shot, or take the defender one on one.For some reason it is the most played sport in the world. Unlike other sports, you don't need a lot of things to play soccer you just need a ball, my friends and I even played with an empty can when we didn't have a ball. I hope to become a professional soccer player someday. I currently play jv soccer and I will try to make it to varsity next year. The World Cup will be next year in Brazil, which is the most watched sporting event worldwide.
